Vijaydurg has a great history, the fort was built in 1200 A.D. by Great King Bhoj, was restructured by Great Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj to add one more layer of security. This fort was called the 'Eastern Gibraltar'! This town proudly flaunts its crown!!
We recommend to opt for a tour guide and keep aside enough time for the long walk inside the fort. Start early morning or early evening to avoid exertion due to direct exposure to sunlight. Dolphin sighting from the fort is common in specific season.
